EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy designed to help people process distressing memories, traumatic experiences, and deep-rooted emotional blocks. Originally developed for PTSD, EMDR is now widely used to treat anxiety, phobias, depression, and other mental health challenges.

Rather than talking through trauma repeatedly, EMDR works by guiding your brain to reprocess painful memories in a way that helps you feel calmer and more in control. It does this through a structured process involving bilateral stimulation—often through eye movements, tapping, or auditory cues—which helps "unstick" difficult memories from the nervous system, allowing the brain to heal naturally.

What to Expect in an EMDR Session
During a session, we will explore your concerns in a safe and supportive way. Using bilateral stimulation, we will help your brain reprocess the memory so that it loses its emotional charge. You remain fully in control throughout the process, and there is no need to relive the trauma in detail. Over time, the memory becomes less triggering, and you gain a sense of relief and emotional freedom.
